"I heard about the site on today's (9/23/1999) Media Network.  As soon as the program ended, I clicked over.  It's wonderful, and I hope it continues to expand.  I started listening to shortwave nearly 24 years ago, when I was 10.  It's been with me, up and down, all these years.  I've grown a bit nostalgic thinking about my early days of listening, the things I used to hear all the time (Israel and Egypt), the shows I liked (Happy Station) and all that type of stuff as I approach my 25th year of listening.  Finding sites like yours helps me to look back at a hobby that has in many ways shaped me into the person I have become.  Thanks for the site!  For the past 24 years, I have listened to shortwave with three different portables (the current being a Sony ICF SW7600), but only one table-top receiver--my 1937 Stromberg-Carlson 250L, which my father restored to good health way back in 1968.  I affectionally call the radio "Grandfather.  73's and the best of DX."
